PCD Wire Drawing Dies for Galvanized Mild Steel Wire
Galvanized low carbon steel wire is commonly used in baled wire, binding wire or braided wire. PCD drawing die is very suitable for drawing galvanized low carbon steel wire.
Brief Introduction
Wire drawing, Making of wire, generally from a rod or bar. The wire-drawing process consists of pointing the rod, threading the pointed end through a die, and attaching the end to a drawing block. The block, made to revolve by an electric motor, pulls the lubricated rod through the die, reducing it in diameter and increasing its length. Fine wire is made by a multiple-block machine because the reduction cannot be performed in a single draft.
PCD wire drawing dies are made of polycrystalline diamond blank. According to the difference of adding a metal binder, it can be divided into cobalt-based PCD drawing die and silicon-based PCD drawing dies. Cobalt-based PCD drawing dies have high wear resistance and long working life and are mostly used in the market, but can only be used below 650°. Silicon-based PCD wire drawing die can be used at 1200°, but the relative wear resistance is relatively poor. According to the style of the PCD blank, it can be divided into the unsupported type and cemented carbide supported type. Generally, large hole aperture drawing needs to be supported with cemented carbide for reinforcement to prevent the mold core from breaking during high-speed drawing.
